Village Development Board (VDB) of Zhadima village has reportedly undertaken road repairing work along Kohima- Bokajan NEC road via Zhadima 10th IRB (NAP) Battalion, Assam Rifles outpost Ziezou, Phekerkriema, Tsosunyu, Ghutovi, Niuland and Dimapur, the only alternate road between Kohima- Dimapur.
In a release, Zhadima village VDB secretary, Roko Angami, blamed the state PWD department of neglecting this “most vital road” between Kohima and Dimapur for many years and added that the villagers were compelled to repair the road on regular basis on their own expenses.
He stated that the villagers were even planning to raise funds among themselves for repairing and maintenance related works on the route for the general public.
The VDB secretary lamented that the PWD department was not attentive to the repeated requests of the villagers towards maintenance of this road. He therefore urged upon the concerned department to take up the matter with urgency and ensure that Kohima- Bokajan NEC road was maintained to the fullest.
