Kiruphema Youth Organization (KYO) has strongly condemned the alleged assault on one of its members by unidentified gunmen on June 15 at the landslide area Kiruphema (NH-29) who was assisting to ease the traffic in the land slide area.
Condemning the incident, Kiruphema Youth Organization president, Kezevilie Hojha, action secretary KYO, Makolie Suosahie and secretary KYO ,Mhasisietuo Zhiinyii, in the press note, stated that the youth was seriously injured on his head with pistol butt and was also threatened.
Kiruphema Youth Organization said the youth members were tirelessly helping and sacrificing its time and labour for public service at the landslide area and such act of anti-social activity cannot be tolerated in future.
Meanwhile, KYO has appealed to the authority to ensure that both the commuters and public were safe in the coming days. Kiruphema Youth Organization also cautioned any group or individual collecting illegal tax on the vehicles at landslide site (Kiruphema), would be penalized as per its constitution.
ASU: Angami Students’ Union has condemned the alleged assault on Vikehiekho Dahou, a member of Kiruphema Youth Organization by some unidentified gunmen on June 16.
In a press statement, ASU president, Visako Rino and general secretary, Vizokho Zashumo, said the union was appalled and utterly angered by the brazen act of the perpetrators, who identified themselves as members of a “certain Naga Political Group”.
ASU stated that it would not tolerate “bunch of goons acting under the banner of NPG targeting the KYO and its volunteers, who have been engaged in selflessly rendering their best for the public commuting in the landslide area.”
The union has also warned the culprits to either reveal their identity or be prepared to face a “manhunt”. KSU has also wished speedy recovery to the injured person and extended support to Kiruphema Youth Organization .
Meanwhile, ASU has reminded “all elements who are hell-bent in sabotaging the ongoing developmental works in Angami jurisdiction” that there would be “befitting consequences for elements indulging in unlawful activities, particularly the nuisance of extortion by the Naga Political Groups on the ongoing four lane road project between Dimapur and Kohima”.
At the present juncture, with so much at stake, Angami Students’ Union said the Naga Political Groups should display maximum restraint and desist from unacceptable and unlawful activities, which otherwise may become detrimental to the progress of the crucial Naga movement.
The union while affirming to remain vigilant in deterring unlawful elements also extended its fullest support to the NCSU and all its fraternity.
