
Inspection team from Nagaland University visited St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama on July 13, in regard to granting permission to the college to run master programmes and for department of English.
Delivering welcome address, principal, Fr. Dr. Sebastian Ousepparampil, pointed out that in the life of an institution as in the life of an individual or a nation there are significant and meaningful and historic moments that make an institution to grow and change.
Head of the department, James H.K presented a brief highlight of the department profile and emphasized the need to have PG in the college pointing out that there are hardly three universities in the state to accommodate master students.
Prof. Nigamananda Das addressed the gathering on behalf of the team and spoke of his positive prospect despite the rules and other criteria lay down by the university.
The other highlights of the programme include invocation, welcome song, dance, special number and vote of thanks.
The programme was followed by presentation on the college profile, discussion and interaction with the team members.
The team also visited all the necessary labs, classrooms, libraries and other important sites and also verification of the documents.
The inspection team was led by Dean SET, Prof. S.K. Sharma as the convener, department of English head NU, Professor, Nigamananda Das and department of English NU, associate professor, MD Aktar Jamal Khan.
