Note Grid School of Music and Media Studio held its first instalment of an annual series ‘Soiree Musicale’ at IMC hall, Dimapur with Music Task Force, Government of Nagaland-director Gugs Chishi as the special guest.
In a short note, Chishi expressed happiness that the faculty of the school, who have all been influential in their chosen fields, were passing on the knowledge they have gained to the younger generations as guides.
He encouraged the gathered parents that their children were set on a course to become as good as or even better than their teachers.
Chishi lauded those musicians who have come back to share their knowledge after getting themselves trained from reputed music institutes outside the state.
Exhorting the gathered music students Chishi said, “It is not a waste of time rather it is worth all the time you are investing into taking up music as a profession.”
Guest artiste Dinesh Khundrakpam from The Bangalore School of Music performed a few renowned classical guitar pieces along with some of his original works.
Performers during the event included faculty of the school and senior students.
A kids’ choir comprising of both senior and junior students along with the faculty performed a rendition of ‘You Raised Me Up’.
The musicale saw a blend of both classical and contemporary followers sharing the stage to present a good repertoire of both the genres.
