Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) has extended support to the Supreme Court order on September 23, 2016 banning sale of all forms of chewable tobacco products. In tune with this, the women hoho has called upon all colonies and ward women leaders to support ban on sale of all forms of chewable tobacco in Dimapur district.
This was stated in a press statement issued by NWHD information and publicity secretary, Thethem Hangsingh. NWHD also urged upon the GBs and Dimapur Urban Colony Chairman Federation to extend support so that such anti element harmful to health eradicated from the society.
The women hoho said that the anti-tobacco campaign in Dimapur district was to safeguard the children as insensitivity on the part of the society has put the lives of the young generation into precarious situation. Therefore, NWHD appealed to the leaders not to “sabotage the anti tobacco campaign in Dimapur with any other source of influence”.
