DUSA conducts driving awareness seminar

To create awareness on the important of traffic rules and regulations among the masses, Drivers Union Shamator Area (DUSA) conducted driving awareness seminar under topic “Save life” on September 19 at Shongkiu High Bridge, Shamator. 
Creating awareness on importance of driving, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Phulese K Yeptho, cautioned the gathering on the usage of using mobile phone while driving. He asked the participants to be aware of the diminutive things to avoid accident and save life.
The ADC also lauded the DUSA for taking up the initiative to organise such programmes for drivers in particular which would not only benefit the drivers but the public in general. 
During the second session, resource person of the programme, 2nd OC police station, Shamator, ABSI Arun, requested the drivers to know the rules and Motor Vehicle Act before they start driving and to obtain proper vehicle documents.
He asserted that passenger drivers, as responsible drivers, must know the seat capacity, limit loading and speed limit. 
Altogether 95 private and government drivers attended the programme. Earlier, welcome speech was delivered by DUSA president, B Topong, the programme was chaired by DUSA general secretary Juno Chuba, special song was presented by youth pastor, Shamator Wati, invocation prayer was pronounced by DUSA treasurer Tsurito and special presentation for drivers was presented by Tokiu and Kiutsu.
