Now, the issue of who would take the NPF party and the leadership now lies on the numbers game, not of the MLAs but the Central Executive Council.
NPF central official said out of 152 NPF CEC members, 112 of them had signed and declared in affidavit, supporting the leadership of NPF president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu during the NPF General Convention in 2015. This was done during the August 25 CEC meeting at its central office.
The party reminded that the CEC members were appointed during the 2015 GC as per the NPF constitution and the names along with photographs were submitted to the ECI and the NPF central.
Reacting to the Neiphiu Rio’s group, claiming that they had the majority of CEC members, NPF central said: “Be it Dr. Shürhozelie, Neiphiu Rio or T.R. Zeliang or anybody can appoint as many members as possible but it makes no sense since the official list of the names were lying with ECI and that’s what matters the most.”
