Tovihoto asks non-Nagas to spread message of peace

Parliamentary secretary for irrigation & flood control, Tovihoto Ayemi, has called upon non-Naga communities residing in Nagaland to spread the message of peace and harmony to the rest of the country.
Speaking at Progressive Youth Association (PYA) 25 years anniversary of Durga puja celebration on Tuesday in Dimapur, Tovihoto said non-Nagas in Nagaland should spread the message of peaceful co-existence of different communities in Nagaland especially Dimapur.
Terming Dimapur as “mini India”, he said people from different caste and religion from every corner of the country live together harmoniously. 
Lauding PYA for constructing the best Durga Puja pandals in Dimapur, he stated that visiting puja pandals during the festival has been a yearly event for him. He also reminded the association that silver jubilee was a time to retrospect and look back how much one has contributed in last 25 years. 
Extending puja greetings to all, he called upon everyone irrespective of age to celebrate the festival and also to seek blessing from Maa Durga, 
Earlier, Tovihoto also lighted the lamp of “Maa Durga Bandana”.
Spiritual speech was delivered by Swami Chunmayanand Jee Maharaj, while welcome address was delivered by PYA cultural secretary, Manoj Dhar.
The event witnessed dances by Mayuri Das, Adrija Saha and Daibyani Das. Later, vote of thanks was proposed by PYA general secretary, Rupak Das.  
Puja greetings
NPF minority wing: NPF minority wing has extended Durga Puja and Navaratri greetings to Hindu citizens of Nagaland and neighbouring area. A greetings message by NPF minority wing stated that Durga Puja was not only a festival but also a major socio-cultural event celebrated in all corner of the country and abroad with great enthusiasm, solidarity and gaiety. It further prayed that this kind of celebration bring greater peace and happiness to one and all and strengthen the prevailing social and cultural harmony in the state and nation. 
DBS: Dimapur Bangali Samaj (DBS) has wished all readers a very happy Durga puja, especially to the devotees of mother goddess. DBS hoped that Durga puja which symbolizes victory of good over evil would drive away all sorrows, sufferings and negativity and that blessing of Maa Durga would bring peace, prosperity and happiness. 
BJP Dimapur: BJP Dimapur district has wished people of Nagaland in general and denizens of Dimapur in particular a warm Durga Puja and hoped that the celebration would bring good fortune and success. It further prayed that goddess Durga shower her choicest blessings to all.
