People’s Democratic Council of KArbi-longri (PDCK) group has called for a 24-hour total shutdown starting from November 7, 12 a.m.
In a press note, PDCK Red army’s chief of army staff, ‘capt.’ David Mukrang informed that the bandh has been called in protest against alleged “atrocity and torture committed against its functionaries—Raju Engleng and Logsing Teron by Indian occupational forces.”
Condemning the act, PDCK said it was in total violation of Article 3 of the Geneva Convention. It further asked the security forces “to recognize the international humanitarian law and the law of armed conflict and also to recognize article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, of the UN General Assembly.”
