Confederation of Four Associations (CoFA) comprising of CANSSEA, FONSESA, NSSA and NF&ASA, has threatened to go on a three-day pen-down strike from November 21, if the state government did not act on their seven day ultimatum served on November 14 for “a decision and recommend the empanelled list of non-SCS Officers to the DoPT/UPSC” by Tuesday.
A joint press statement issued by the presidents of CANSSEA, Dr. Zase Chusi, Er. Y. Tep (FONSESA), Johnny Humtsoe (NSSA) and R.N Yanthan (NF&ASA), action committee convenor, Dr. Ilang, and members Kitto Swu, Er. Neiilabeizo and Temsu Longkumer, stated that the associations on November 20, held a threadbare deliberation on the issue and resolved to stage its first phase agitation (November 21). It will be followed by a second and third Phase till their “legitimate rights were fulfilled,” the signatories stated.
CoFA said they were yet to get a positive response from the government till date. In this regard, the associations have decided to go ahead with the first phase of agitation—‘pen down strike’, if the government failed to respond positively by midnight of November 21.
The associations stated that the pen-down strike would be mandatory for all employees under the umbrella of the Confederation of four Associations including directorates and all district establishments.
However, it said medical, PHED, Power, Fire Services, NST, IPR, Educational Institutions and other public utility services have exempted from the purview of the pen down strike.
Further, president and office bearers of NSSA and NF&ASA have been directed to ensure strict compliance by its members and enforce strict actions against defaulters.
CANSSEA and FONSESA have been directed to inform their sister associations and to ensure that the pen down strike is strictly enforced in their respective departments.
CoFA has therefore asked the sister associations of CANSSEA and FONSESA to appoint one liaison officer and submit their names and contact number to the Action Committee by November 21 through– 9856136608, 8119068542, 7640831164, 9436076858.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of four Associations  has informed that the control room will be at CANSSEA’s office till further notice. Any further clarification or information can be had from the above phone numbers, the release added.
