In-spite of the rain, people across Nagaland braved the cold December rain and witnessed one of its all-time favourite bands as they performed live at Indira Gandhi Stadium Kohima on Sunday.
Just like lead singer Liz Mitchell had promised to make everybody happy, the crowd danced to the beat of the old tracks that brought back many memories. The band performed for more than an hour and braved the cold temperature that dropped to 14 degree. Mitchell said that the Spirit of God was in their music and that the crowd had received the same by being in the concert. She added, “Nagaland is a magic place”.
For the most part, children present at the concert had an amazing time and some of them were invited by Mitchell on stage to sing and dance to the song of “brown girl in the ring”. Tony Ashcroft, added more spice to the show by being a part of the crowd as he took selfies with many of the fans present. The band was unable to leave the stage even after they had bid farewell as they kept receiving requests from the crowd.
Boney M performed mostly from the first three albums like Ruspitin, Ma-baker, Rivers of Babylon, No Woman No Cry, Let It Be and Christmas songs like Feliz Navidad, Mary’s Boy Child among some others. A few artistes from Nagaland opened for Boney M.
