Lhothavi Village Council (LVC) has requested the return of an elephant that they alleged, some NSCN (I-M) cadres, on the directive of certain officials, had taken away at gun-point without informing the custodian of the animal. A letter addressed to the “Ato Kilonser”, NSCN GPRN from LVC chairman, Khazhezu Yepthomi and secretary, Ahoi Chophi, expressed strong resentment against “such highhandedness of the officials” and asked that the elephant be returned to the custodian and appropriate action be taken against the erring officials.
