Mon, Phek DPDB and Noklak SDPDB meetings

Monthly Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on January 15 at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mon.
According to DIPR report, DC Mon and vice chairman, DPDB, Thavaseelan K, who chaired the meeting, reiterated that election duties take precedence over all other tasks.
The DC apprised the members of the preparations done for the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Elections, 2018. He urged those drafted for election duty to put in all possible efforts for the successful conduct of the elections. Thavaseelan later informed all members to attend the monthly DPDB meeting without fail. He warned of show cause notices on those absenting the meeting regularly.
The house deliberated on the preparatory works for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration. Distribution of works for the celebration would be done on January 16 at a special meeting. The house was also appraised of Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) centres for de-addiction. A programme involving NGOs and other stakeholders are being planned for de-addiction, the DC stated, and added that these programmes will have livelihood training component.
Executive engineer, Power, Mon division, Er. S.I. Asangba Tikhir highlighted about the power situation in the district. The house later deliberated on power theft situations as well transmission and distribution losses. Village wise VVPAT demonstration in Mon to begin. VVPAT /EVM training for ROs under Mon district was held at DC’s conference hall, Mon on January 15. Functioning of VVPAT and hand on training was imparted by master trainers, principal, ITI, Mon, Alongse Sangtam.
According to DIPR report, village wise VVPAT demonstration would begin from January 17 and the whole of Mon district is expected to be covered by January 22. Banners, pamphlets and SVEEP related materials were also issued to all constituencies in the district through ROs for display.
Phek DPDB: Monthly Phek DPDB meeting was held on January 16 at DPDB hall, Phek, chaired by chairman, Phek DPDB and advisor, Social Welfare, Chotisuh Sazo. SDO (Civil) Phek, Neilezo Tep reviewed the last meeting minutes. The newly posted officers were also introduced to the house. Chairman, Chotisuh Sazo urged the members to be sincere in their works. He also asked officers to be present at their places of postings for convenience the people. Food & Civil Supplies department and Sports department, Phek gave reports of their departmental activities. The next DPDB meeting would be held on February 9. The department of Forest and DEF (SP) Department, Phek would give reports of their departmental activities in the next meeting.
Noklak SDPDB: Noklak SDPDB meeting was held at KTC hall, Noklak on January 15, chaired by additional deputy commissioner, Noklak, Thsuvishie Phoji. The meeting discussed about the work distribution for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration. The chairman urged members to be sincere in their duties and also be present during the state assembly election.
