KVK Peren training & capacity building prog

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Peren under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) project organised training and capacity building programme “Income generation through increased cropping intensity in the fallow rice fields” on January 17 with the main emphasis on using the rice fallows for cultivating Toria and winter vegetables. In a press release, KVK Peren informed that training on package of practices of toria and mustard, winter vegetables, soil health management strategies, cultivation of mushroom and care and management of livestock components were imparted to the farmers from Ngwalwa, Jalukiekam and Beisumpuikam village.
Resource persons were KVK personnel, Z. James Kikon, Dr.Kolom Rabi, Dr. Patu K. Zeliang, Dr Epibeni Ngullie, Lireni Kikon and Pynshailang Mawthoh from KVK Peren and KVK Dimapur. 93 farmers including 29 farm women from the three villages were benefitted. The release informed that seeds of Toria, mushroom spawns, winter vegetables and Pamphlets were also distributed to the farmers.
