DCs and DEOs issue directives

In view of the general elections, District Election Officer (DEO) Kiphire in exercise of the powers conferred under sec.144 (A) of the code of criminal Procedure 1973 and specific directions of ECI has prohibited carrying of licensed arms/weapons within the jurisdiction of Kiphire district.
However, carrying of licensed arms for verification at nearest police stations or depositing of the same or for uploading of NDAL before deposition has been exempted from the purview of this order.
According to DIPR, the order will be in force with immediate effect till the completion of election process and violations will invite penal actions under Sec.153 AA of Indian Penal code 1860 and other relevant sections of the law.
MOKOKCHUNG: Deputy Commissioner (DC) & District Election Officer (DEO), Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal has informed that schedule for casting of postal ballot applied by polling personnel, DEF and NAP personnel at Town Hall Mokokchung will be as follows – February 19, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m, DEF personnel, February 20 from 9 a.m to 3 p.m, 2nd NAP personnel, February 21, 8 a.m to 10 p.m, DC staff, magistrate on duty, EEMs team and drivers, February 21 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m, polling personnel.
Further, DC & DEO has also informed that in view of the upcoming election, a co-ordination-cum-briefing session on “election expenditure monitoring” with intending candidates, election agents, additional agents, ward/village authorities of 23 A/C, 24 A/C, 25 A/C, 26 A/C, 27 A/C, 28 A/C will be held on February at 13, 11 a.m at Conference Hall of ADC (planning), Mokokchung. All have been requested to attend the meeting.  
MON: DC & DEO, Mon, K. Thavaseelan has informed all concerned that carrying of licensed arms within the district by any individual, post last date for verification or depositions of arms (February) has been banned. License of any such arms that are caught will be cancelled and that, the ban on carrying of arms is as per the provision of section 144 of the CrPC, 1973.
WOKHA: DC & DEO, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon has informed that 2nd round of training for polling personnel drafted for election duty has been fixed on February 15 and 16 at GHSS, Wokha at 10 a.m.
According to DIPR, the training for “presiding officers and polling-I” will be held on February 15, while for “Polling-II, Polling-III, Polling-IV (VVPAT) and Grade-IV”, the training will be held on February 16.
Therefore, all polling personnel have been directed to attend the training. The notification further stated that disciplinary action shall be initiated against the absentees as per relevant sections of law. 
DC & DEO, Wokha also informed that “2nd medical board” for exemption of polling personnel will be conducted on February 14 at Dr. Motsuo Memorial Hospital, Wokha from 10 a.m onwards. All polling personnel who have applied for exemption on medical ground have been directed to report for examination. 
According to DIPR, the DC & DEO has also informed government employees designated for the time being by the state government, for the conduct of any election related duties shall be deemed to be on deputation to the election commission for the period commencing on and from the date of notification calling for such election, and ending with date of declaration of the results of such election. Accordingly, such officials during that period shall be subject to the control, superintendence and discipline of the election commission.
Therefore, any government employee drafted for official duty in connection with election if found guilty of any act or omission and breach of official duties without reasonable cause shall be punishable under relevant sections of law.
Further, DC & DEO, Wokha has directed all Head of Department (HOD) and offices under Wokha district to ensure that the officers and staff under their establishment to attend the training.
