Organisations highlight grievances during Kiphire DPDB meeting

Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on April 5 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kiphire wherein civil society organisations from the district highlighted the grievances faced by the citizens.
According to DIPR report, in the meeting held under the chairmanship of minister, soil & water conservation and geology & mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam, “various apex tribal organisations” of the district highlighted the shortcomings and the problems faced by the people of Kiphire. 
The organisations highlighted the “poor maintenance and functioning” of hospitals and educational institutions in the district. 
The minister and chairman Kiphire DPDB, V. Kashiho Sangtam also requested joint secretary, MHRD and prabhari officer of aspirational district Kiphire, Sanjay Kumar, to frame specific programmes that would be “acceptable” by the government of India. 
Kashiho assured that, with the initiation of the prabhari officer and officers of the districts, Kiphire could be declared as one of the most advanced districts by 2022.
Later, Sanjay encouraged the citizens of Kiphire district to join hand and work together so as to move forward together. He also requested the departments to make radical gap analysis and learn from the best practices which can be implemented.
In the meeting brief report was presented by various departments like Health & Family Welfare, Zisaji Presidency College, Education, PWD (Road& Bridges), Agriculture, DRDA, Lead Bank and Horticulture.
The board also deliberated on registration of St. John School, Kiusam village and setting up of Primary School at Okhe village and agreed to recommend to the government for necessary action.
