MTC Wokha conducts one-day education seminar

Department of Education, Mount Tiyi College (MTC) Wokha organized a “One day district level education seminar” under the theme “Community based educational practices and its development in Wokha district” on May 24 at seminar hall MTC.  A press release from MTC Wokha education department stated that the resource person, associate professor, department of Education MTC, Sentimenla Jamir said that the first years of communitization in Nagaland showed community involvement, but slowly the enthusiasm was dwindling down and needed effective and strong participation to improve the educational system.  Resource person, assistant professor, DIET Wokha, Dr. Yanthan emphasized on a research project which shows government schools to be actually performing better where community involvement was higher. He further elaborated on teaching methodologies that needed to be adopted inside the classroom to improve the student’s analytical thinking to create creative minds rather than convergent thinking.  The programme was chaired by assistant professor, department of Education MTC Wokha, Azhanuo Peki, opening of the programme was addressed by principal MTC, Dr. Apeni Lotha, while vote of thanks was proposed by assistant professor, department of Education MTC Wokha, Veto Nakro.
