BOOKLET ON SCHEMES, IN 16 DIALECTES, RELEASED
“No writing is enough without a good photograph”, said advisor for SCERT, IPR & Village Guards, Toshi Wungtung, adding that a good photograph was the icing on the cake.
He was speaking at the valedictory program of the two day training on photography skill upgradation at DIPR conference hall, Kohima on June 15.
According to a DIPR report, Wungtung, who is a keen photographer himself, said that it was a wonderful experience to be a photographer and he narrated his experiences where he captured moments of conflicts, tears and joy in his photos. He also said that it was not easy to be a photographer as they experience challenges, difficulties and risk when capturing such moments.
He also stated that photographers capture moments and what you photograph now is your signature which will go on living for a long time. The future generation will reflect back on the moments a photographer captures, he added.
He further added that he was looking forward to work with the department and to set up a film studio which will have Naga film directors and actors. He also added that with the cooperation of the department, a film studio will be set up very soon.
Director, IPR, Limawati Ao who also spoke on the occasion, said that IPR was one of the few departments which could achieve the targets set in the 100 days program of the PDA government within the stipulated time.
He also talked about a booklet ‘Important Schemes for Welfare of Citizens’, which was released in all Naga languages at the program. The book is a compilation of some important schemes/programs undertaken by various departments for the welfare of citizens which will be beneficial for those living in the interior parts of the state, he added.
The Director also expressed appreciation to language translators and officer incharge joint director, IPR, Dzüvinuo Theünuo for completing their assignments in record time. He said the booklet contains various welfare schemes explained in 16 different tribal dialects.
The program was chaired by deputy director, Asangla Imsong. Earlier, the advisor released the booklets ‘Important Schemes for Welfare Of Citizens’ which was translated by language translators of DIPR.
The resource person of the photography workshop was Suchamayang Kichu assisted by Moro Longchar. The training focused on concept of photography interspersed with mostly practical sessions. Training certificates were given to all the participants by the advisor.
