Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, has informed all head of offices in the district that there will be a mass social work activity on August 11, 8 a.m. onwards to clear drainage, foliage and outgrowths so as to ensure a clean Nagaland and to prevent water logging, which causes landslides and flooding in the monsoon seasons.
In this regard, a co-ordination meeting will be held on August 7, 11:30 a.m at the DC’s conference hall, Wokha. All departments, educational institutions, municipal bodies, village councils, ward chairmen and head GBs have been directed to ensure active participation of staff/citizens and see that within their office premises and jurisdictions, etc., garbage is collected and properly disposed-off.
All out post administrative officers have been directed to oversee and make sure the social work activity is carried out in all offices, institutions, colonies etc.
