The State IEC Bureau under Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DoH&FW), Kohima conducted school infotainment programs on dengue awareness in 17 schools and 15 focus group discussion sessions were also held with the students under Chümoukedima block, Dimapur from August 8 to 10.
A press release from DPMU Dimapur stated that, under Dimapur National Vector Borne Diseases Control Progam, as part of the infotainment, a skit was developed by the State IEC Bureau team which aims to create awareness on dengue, how it is spreads, preventive and control measures, importance of using LLIN mosquito nets and other precautionary measures. Awareness talks and poster campaigns were given and IEC materials and on dengue were distributed at the program.
The IEC Bureau Team was led by Supongbenla Lemtur, deputy director, IEC Bureau, (DoH&FW), Kohima along with 15 IEC officials.
