At the initiative of Eastern Nagaland National Workers’ Association (ENNWA) of the NNPGs, a joint consultative meeting was held with Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) at Hotel Saramati here on Saturday.
ENPO’s media cell in a statement informed that the meeting thoroughly deliberated on the ongoing Naga peace talks and the ENPO statehood demand.
Lauding Government of India (GoI) for inviting the Working Committee of NNPGs for talks in 2017, ENPO said it was a ground-breaking move with much optimism aimed at generating political consensus on the protracted Indo-Naga political issue.
While expressing its continued support to the peace talks with all groups, ENPO hoped that the ongoing talks would usher in a meaningful dialogue and a lasting solution acceptable to all stakeholders at the earliest.
ENPO also appreciated ENNWA-NNPGs for its fullest co-operation and support towards its demand for a separate State after having understood the genuineness of the demand.
