
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC), Mount Tiyi College (MTC) Wokha conducted a program on HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis (TB) awareness on August 20 at the college seminar hall.
A press release from MTC principal, Dr. Apeni Lotha stated that the resource persons were Dr. Benchilo Ngullie, DTO and Lichumo Odyuo, DPO (DAPCU).
In the first session, Lichumo Odyuo spoke on HIV/AIDS and, with the aid of district-wise data, warned about the alarming growth of AIDS infected people in the state. He also explained the establishment of HIV testing centres in the state and their accessibility.
In the second session, Dr. Benchilo Ngullie discussed TB at length. She emphasised on its causes, diagnosis and treatment.
The program was chaired by Faustina, assistant professor of Sociology and a welcome address was delivered by the principal. A vote of thanks was proposed by Sentimenla Jamir, associate professor & HoD (Education).
