NRMSATA-2016 on Sunday said that the association has decided to go ahead with second phase of agitation– peaceful sit-in protest at the Directorate of School Education (DoSE) from September 4, which may continue indefinitely.

NRMSATA-2016 president, Sao Venuh and general secretary Haisoliabe Ndang in a press note said that despite the ongoing class boycott against the humiliating Office Memorandum, directing the teachers to either accept the reduced payment (by Rs 6315) within a month or face termination, the government has failed to address the issue.

Out rightly rejecting the OM, NRMSATA said it clearly indicated that the manipulative document was nothing short of imposed slavery and severe discrimination.

NRMSATA said the issue of reduction in salary arose when Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), began implementing the new scheme– Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, a merger of erstwhile Sarva Shikhsha Abhiyan(SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shikhsa Abhiyan (RMSA) in the State.

It pointed out that the document of the new scheme did not in any way distinguish SSA and RMSA teachers, salary structures etc. but strictly based on the different sections of the School taught viz, for primary teachers–  upto Rs15,000, Upper Primary Teachers – upto Rs 20,000, Secondary Teachers – upto Rs 25,000.

However, despite RMSA teachers falling under the category of Rs 25000, it said that the department served them OM, which was not only is discriminatory but also irrational and invalid.
