CSTCT rejects proposed bandh

Changtongya Senso Telungjem, Changtongya Town (CSTCT) has denounced the press statement issued by the town’s All Ward Union chairman T Meyi Longkumer threatening to impose an indefinite bandh from October 2. CSTCT president Tongpangkumzük Jamir and secretary Talituba Longkümer in press note clarified that the statement was issued without the knowledge of the Changtongya Senso residents. CSTCT said the house during its executive meeting Wednesday condemned the “unfortunate and premature” press statement by All Ward Union chairman, when extensive consultations were on with the PDA government, particularly under the initiative of Health & Family Welfare minister S Pangnyu Phom, for improvement and betterment of Changtongya Community Health Centre. The hosue also resolved not to allow imposition of the proposed indefinite bandh by blocking NH 62 (61) and Longleng road within the Changtongya jurisdiction.
