NNC/FGN celebrates 55th Indo-Naga Ceasefire Day

The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) along with NBCC leaders celebrated the 55th Indo-Naga Ceasefire Day at Peace Hall, Chedema on September 6. 

A press release from FGN secretary, Thihü Khamo stated that a speech was delivered by Rev. Beilieü Shüya based on the holy words and destiny of a Nation from the book of Acts 17: 26-27 and Revelation 7: 9-10. She gave thanks to Almighty God for the International Ceasefire Agreement signed between the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) and the Government of India (GoI) in 1964.

A short speech was delivered by L. Kaiso, vice president, NNC, where he said that the Peace Camp, Chedema was a gift of God and an unshakable historical pillar between the Naga nation and India. He also expressed deep gratitude to Nagaland Peace Mission (NPC), Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and the Peace Mission (PM) members viz. late B.P. Chaliha, chief minister of Assam, late Jayaprakash Naryan, the Indian Sarvodaya leader and late Rev. Michael Scott, an international peace maker. 

The function was led by I. Toshi, medical kilonser, FGN with a Bible reading and prayer by Rev. John Kamei, administrative assistant, NBCC. A special song was presented by NBCC staff. The closing prayer was said by Rev Dr. Atsi Dolie.
