Speaker condoles

NLA Speaker, Vikho-o Yhoshü has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Phelhukhwe Kirha former president of the Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) and a prominent citizen on the September 13 after a brief illness.  In his condolence message, Yhoshü described Kirha as a man who possessed high and towering qualities and an upright gentleman who was engrossed and committed to the profession he pursued. Yhoshü said late Kirha, a ‘National Teacher Award’ recipient, also served as pastor of Jakha Town Baptist Church after retiring from active social engagements.   

He recalled that during Kirha’s leadership as SAPO president, numerous social issues were adjudicated and vital policies were adopted and implemented for the unity and progression of the society. 

He was also a man who always advocated and stood firm on his ground for ‘truth and social justice’, Yhoshü said.

In the demise, Yhoshü said the society has lost a luminary who had given his best for all. 

Yhoshü conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God grant eternal rest to the departed soul.
