
A debut instrumental piece titled ‘Gone forever’ by Gugu Sekhose was released on September 15 at Spanish Family restaurant, Tinpatti in Kohima.
The instrumental piece was released in loving memory of his mother and a tribute to all loved ones who has passed away
‘Gone forever,’ a ballad instrumental piece is a profound piece written of the past having a lot of stories and a melodic piece to express his deep emotions and portrays a message in his music.
He narrated that his mother passed when he was too young to even learn to love back his mother. Through this piece, he wishes to tell everyone to love close ones while they can until time takes them apart.
During the release of the album, Sekhose gave all thanks and glory to God for the successful release of his first single. He said he first learned the basics of the strings from his elder brother as music classes were expensive. However he had to give up his love for music due to financial constraints but that didn’t stop him from pursuing his passion with more vigour.
Sekhose recalled how he went on collecting music resources from various means and started to practice, and gradually he went to take music lessons in Bridge School of Music, Delhi in 2012 and cleared Rock School Grade 3.
Khriekethozo Sekhose, popularly known as Gugu Sekhose is a renowned guitarist from Kohima who has made several achievements in his music career. He started playing guitar at a very early age of seven and is a passionate guitar player. He is also a guitar instructor with quiet a number of students and individual guitar tutor.
Currently he is the guitar instructor of Nagaland Adolescent Girl’s Club (NAGC) under Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, and is running a music store ‘Chromatic Clef’ for rental and sale services in Kohima.
Sekhose is known for his performances with the local band ‘Faded Black’ and on a project band ‘Fifth Note’. He has made appearances as the guest guitarist in major events such as world renowned guitarist, Neil Zaza’s Master class in Kohima in 2015 and Dimapur in 2016. He has also appeared in Nagaland’s acclaimed Hornbill Festivals with his band ‘The Hornbill Project’ and performed the opening act for the Swedish band Halloween in 2015 at Hornbill Festival and opening act for platinum selling record Guitarist Kee Marcello, composer and writer, a Swedish musician, Master Class in Kohima.
