Minister of urban development and municipal affairs, Metsubo Jamir, said the Smart City mission will be implemented in Kohima after the appointment of Project Management Consultant (PMC), and the selection process was at its final stage.
He said this in response to an unstarred question raised by opposition MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro on the last day of the second session of the 13th NLA, on September 20. The question was regarding the status of the Kohima Smart City KSC (KSC) Mission. The minister informed the members that the DPRs for certain projects under the mission were under submission for technical approval.
To queries, Jamir also replied that a total amount of Rs. 113 Cr was sanctioned for KSC, out of which Rs. 2 Cr was paid as advance for preparation of the proposal.
He added that Rs. 107 Cr was paid as part payment of project funds for the 1st year for development of Kohima as a smart city while Rs. 2 Cr was paid as part payment for administrative and office expenses.
Further the minister stated that another Rs. 2 Cr was paid as the state’s matching share against A&OE for implementation of the KSC mission.
To another query on the date of the first instalment released by GoI, Jamir said that Rs. 107 Cr was released by the ministry of housing and urban affairs on April 20, 2017.
When asked about the Master Plan for the mission, Jamir said a draft master plan for the project has been prepared which will be finalized and approved in consultation with the PMC.
NPWD has 4303 labourers and 1257 Sectional Assistants: Minister Roads and Bridges Tongpang Ozukum said 4303 labourers and 1257 Sectional Assistants are engaged in looking after the PWD (R&B) roads in Nagaland.
In his reply to and unstarred question, raised by opposition MLA, Y.M Yollow Konyak during the recently concluded 13th NLA session on September 20, the minister also said that the total length of road looked after by the PWD (R&B) Nagaland was 11872.80 km.
