Esther Konyak of Longchang unit was declared Miss Mon 2018 during the Miss Mon beauty pageant held at the recently concluded post-harvest festival of the Konyak’s Lao-Ong Mo on September 28 at Local Ground, Mon Town.
Tumei of Tizit unit and Thengleh M. Konyak of Kohima unit were adjudged first and second runners up respectively.
Other sub title winners included Awan P Konyak as Miss Photogenic, Ngapcho Konyak Miss Catwalk, Nyempo Wallinm as Miss Perfect 10 and Miss Talented, while Nyimlon Konyak was declared as Miss Congeniality.
Chairperson Commission for Protection of Child Rights Nagaland, Awan Konyak graced the occasion as special guest. Lao-Ong festival of 2018 was celebrated under the theme “Reconnecting Foodscape” hosted by the apex Konyak Women’s Organization (KNSK) and Konyak Students’ Union (KSU).
The event was marked by indigenous food competition amongst the 12 KNSK units besides other indigenous games. KNSK Tobu unit emerged as the winner of indigenous food competition followed by Lonchang and Longshen KNSK units in second and third place respectively.
Meanwhile, KNSK Kohima unit extended heartiest congratulations to Miss Mon 2018 Esther Konyak, all the title holders and the participants for having achieved a step evolved towards beauty that incorporate personality traits, intelligence and talent.
KNSK Kohima unit also fetes Miss Thengleh M. Konyak and Miss. Awan P Konyak who emerged as second runner up and Miss Photogenic respectively for bringing a crown of joy and pride to the KNSK Kohima unit.
The KNSK Kohima unit wished them all success in their endeavours.
