
In view of the approaching festive season, the department of IT&C is taking up a special drive to clean up unwanted information and communication related accessories such as telephone wires, telephone posts, TV cables, overhead OFC cables etc in the state capital.
In a press release, KD Vizo, commissioner & secretary ITS, said a co-ordination meeting has been conducted with all the various stakeholders and the following action plan has been drawn for completion before November 15, 2018.
All telephone overhead wires hanging along the main road in the State capital would be removed by BSNL. All TV cable operators and telecom service providers would also remove all kinds of overhead cables hanging along the main road and relocate them to appropriate locations.
All the related information where immediate action is required will be collected and shared through various medium of electronic communications under the banner of “Info-Clean Kohima” and there will be a weekly co-ordination meeting to review and monitor the progress of the works.
All telecom service providers have been requested to improve mobile service during the festive season.
Meanwhile, the department has requested all the citizens of Kohima town to extend their cooperation.
