
Karbi Anglong Sand and Stone Mohaldar and Suppliers Association (KASSMSA) Manja (Assam) has requested all sand suppliers to pay usual rate at sand mahals and to coordinate and consult with Karbi Anglong Dimapur Transporter Association (KADTA) in the future for running a smooth business.
In a press release, KADTA president, Anil Toppo, and general secretary, Nito Sumi, said KADTA and KASSMSA held a joint meeting on Monday at Bokajan and discussed at length on the sand price.
At the meeting, KADTA requested the KASSMSA to rollback the increased sand price.
Only July 1, 2018, KASSMSA hiked the sand price from Rs.22 to Rs.32 per cft. However, KASSMSA assured to take up the issue of sand rate in the next joint meeting, the date and time of which shall be intimated later.
Further, both the associations agreed to work together in the interest of general public and vehicle owners of sand suppliers.
Meanwhile, KADTA has requested the vehicle owners of sand suppliers to contact and coordinate with its general secretary since w.e.f October 30, 2018, Dimapur unit would be looked after by general secretary and members relating to sand transportation while Anil Toppo and members would look after the issue in Karbi Anglong.
Both KASSMA president and KADTA Anil Toppo have also entrusted the KADTA general secretary, Nito Sumi to look into taxation issue in Dimapur by unions/associations, who were collecting more than government prescribed rate.
Further, KADTA has informed all the members and suppliers that there would be election to the post of working president in the first week of December 2018 as the incumbent working president cannot provide time due to health problems. Interested person have been informed to apply on or before November 30 at the association head office Lahorijan.
