A pre-foundation day program and Tritiya Sopan Award Ceremony of Bharat Scouts & Guides (BS&G) Wokha was held at Town Hall, Wokha with Tumben P Tsanglao, EAC Wokha as the special guest on November 3.
A press release from BS&G Wokha district organizing commissioner, H. Orenpomo Ngullie and media secretary, Thunglamo Odyuo stated that, Tsanglao, while speaking at the program encouraged the scouts and guides to be diligent in discharging their duties. Recollecting his high school days as a scout he said, “Decorating oneself with uniforms alone will not serve” but one should be efficient and daring in discharging duties for the nation.
H. Orenpomo Ngullie, DOC (S), led the scouts & guides in the Beti Bachao Beti Pathao pledge which the members present re-affirmed and also signed.
Other highlights of the program included the distribution of badges and certificates to the qualified Tritiya Sopan scouts & guides.
Hundreds of scouts & guides along with scout masters, guide captains and district officials attended the program.
The program was chaired by Thungchibemo T. Lotha, headmaster of Mt. Sinai School, Wokha and the welcome note and vote of thanks were presented by Tsatheo Lotha ADOC (S) Wokha. K Abeni Ngullie district guider also proposed a vote of thanks.
