
In view of complaints on social media about the alleged hike in autorickshaw fare for town trip, the Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers Union (DDADU) has clarified that autorickshaws were to charge Rs.40 for town trip as fixed by regional transport authority.
In a press release, DDADU president, I Vitoshe Sema, reminded the commuters to take note of the autorickshaw registration number and lodge complaint with DDADU office if any autorickshaw drivers were found charging more than prescribed rate. He said noting registration number will also help trace belongings left in the autorickshaws.
DDADU has also informed all autorickshaw drivers to use signal-lights and strictly follow single lane as directed during a seminar held between DDADU official and DCP traffic zone-1 (officers) at the office of traffic OC zone-1. The union has urged the public to lodge complain of any autorickshaw drivers were found not following traffic rules. With festive season approaching, the union has informed all concerned especially visitors from outside that one could lodge complaint at DDADU head office near Hotel Saramati, Supermarket during office hours (10am to3pm).
