AST Kiphire unit visits hospital, jail

In commemoration of its 12th foundation day, Akheta Sangtamlaru Thsingmujang (AST) Kiphire Unit led by its president S.Likhumla Sangtam visited District Jail and District Hospital Kiphire on Tuesday.

At the District Hospital, the unit interacted with the staff of DHK after visiting the patients. 

AST appreciated the government for constructing the new building of District Hospital Kiphire, however, lamented on the non availability of Gynecologist and shortage of man power in the hospital.

According to AST president, Kiphire is facing untold hardship owing to non posting of Gynecologist in the hospital. 

She reminded that delay in delivering the needs of the public was tantamount to neglecting the people of the area. She therefore, appealed to the government and concerned department for early posting of Gynecologist beside other staff as per the norms of the district hospital status. 

Meanwhile, AST appreciated the staff present in the hospital for devoting their time for the people.

In District Jail too, the AST members interacted with the inmates of the jail. 

The members donated cash and eatables to the patients and inmates during their visit. 

Earlier, AST foundation day programme was held at USSC conference hall Kiphire with former president of AST Kiphire Unit, Litongla Sepikyu as speaker, who spoke on the topic “Wise woman”. AST Kiphire Unit president, S.Likhumla delivered the welcome address.
