Mewetshoü Dianu is Miss Nagaland 2018

“Winning the title alone is not important but to be a role model for young people and step out from the cocoon are too”, was Mewetshoü Dinau’s answer in the final round of the Miss Nagaland 2018 contest.

20 year old Mewetshoü, who emerged as Miss Nagaland 2018 and also bagged the title of Miss Perfect 10, in the contest held at RCEMPA Jotsoma, powered by Nagaland Tourism, and an initiative of Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland, on Sunday night.

Dinau, who stands 5.5 feet tall, was also Miss Phek 2018 and her vital statistics are 33-26-36. She walked home richer by Rs. 1.70 lakh with gifts hampers. She will also be brand ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission and also its State Icon. She also said it had been her dream since childhood to win the title.

The first runner-up title was bagged by Grace W. Ezung (23 years), former Miss Wokha, who received Rs 1 lakh and gift hampers. The second runner-up was Bendangkokla (20 years), 1st runner-up of Miss Mokokchung 2018, and she also received Rs. 70,000 and gift hampers. Both of them will be ambassadors for the Swatch Bharat mission.

The other individual subtitles winners were Miss Talent bagged by Neingainem Kuki (Dimapur), Miss Photogenic bagged by Aka Achumi (Zunheboto), Miss Queen of Hearts and Best Evening Gown bagged by Vekhotolu Lohe (Kohima), and Miss Empower by Tsuniholi (Zunheboto). All of them received Rs. 10,000 each and gift hampers from various companies and organizations. Miss Multimedia was bagged by Marola (Mokokchung) she was given a gift hamper from Avon.

Miss India world Asia 2014, Koyal Rana, who was a guest judge, in her brief address before the result declaration expressed excitement to be part of the event and said people in Nagaland were frank and wore a smile and with warm hospitality.

The occasion was graced by Nagaland governor, P.B. Acharya as the guest of honour. The other judges included Kohima DC, Rajesh Soundararajan; advisor BASN, Asu Keyho; Kaheli Chophy, FBB colors Miss Femina Miss India Nagaland 2017; Koyal Rana and Theyiesinuo Keditsu, assistant professor.

Moalemla was the host for the event. Special items were presented by Mezonuo Ngukha, Mar Jamir, Mangyang Kichu, Keneisenuo Sorjie and Seyievinuo Chuzho. FBB Femina Miss India Nagaland 2018 Ruopfuzhano Whiso for “special recognition” gave a brief address on the occasion. Miss Nagaland 2017, Marina Kiho also made an appearance for the final walk.
