
Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio on Sunday expressed shock and pain by the demise of Goa chief minister and former Union Defence minister, Manohar Parrikar who passed away on March 17 at Goa.
In a condolence message to Parrikar’s sons– Utpal and Abhijat Parrikar, Rio said late Parrikar was known for his transparent, efficient and prompt decisions and earned the respect of the masses as the chief minister of the common man.
In his demise, Rio said the State of Goa in particular and the country in general has lost a tall, renowned and decisive leader, who will be dearly missed. Rio, on behalf of the state government, citizens of Nagaland and on behalf of his family, expressed deepest condolences to bereaved family. He also prayed that Almighty God grant them strength and solace to bear this painful loss and for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
DY. CM: Nagaland deputy chief minister and BJP legislature party leader, Y. Patton has expressed pain over the demise of Goa chief minister and former Union Defence minister Manohar Parrikar after prolonged illness at Panaji.
In a condolence message, Patton said Parrikar, who joined politics at an early age, was instrumental in shaping modern Goa.
He said Parrikar, who was a cut above the rest, steered Goa to stability during difficult times. In his death, Patton said the state of Goa and the nation lost a visionary leader who served the people till his last breath.
Patton along with the State BJP legislators conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to find eternal peace.
