All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) undertook the third phase of its education tour on different days to Peren Government College (PGC), Mt. Tiyi College (MTC) Wokha, Bailey Baptist College (BBC) Wokha, and Kohima Science College (KSC) Jotsoma.

A press release from ANCSU general secretary, Vimeyiekho Vitso and education secretary, Krüto Tetse-O stated that ANCSU during its tour observed that every college was facing shortage of lecturers and has appealed to the state government to implement the rationalization report in spirit by immediately sending those sanctioned posts to the Nagaland Public Service Commission for recruitment. The union while encouraging research based teaching methods, has also discouraged students who are not entitled for scholarships from applying for it.

During the tour, the ANCSU reiterated its total opposition to any kind of attachment or redeployment in government colleges, the mushrooming growth of contract appointment without sanctioned posts, and its concern over the scholarship, academic and various related issues.

Peren Government College: On March 14, ANCSU visited PGC and interacted with the students. The union was apprised on the new Peren Government College campus which is yet to be completed even after almost a decade. The union paid a visit to the new campus and observed that the construction had been left unattended for several years although works were going on of late. The union therefore has appealed to the minister of Higher & Technical Education to take up the matter on priority as early as possible.

Bailey Baptist College: On March 19, the union visited BBC Wokha and encouraged the college to invest more. It also appreciated the services of the Church for the student community. Emphasizing on NAAC accreditation which is mandatory for every college by 2022, the union appealed to the college to prepare itself with all the required facilities.

Mt. Tiyi College: ANCSU visited MTC Wokha on March 20, where students highlighted the need and importance of various subjects to be introduced in the college in relation to the subjects being offered in the higher secondary levels of their district.

Kohima Science College: On March 22, ANCSU visited KSC autonomous, Jotsoma and interacted with the students. The students questioned the sincerity of the state government to settle the Kohima Science College land issue and gave a representation with a banner that said “This is our last appeal to the state government to settle the Kohima Science College, Autonomous land issue”. The ANCSU has once again appealed to the state government to take positive and effective steps towards bringing about a settlement to the land issue or the students may be compelled to take any action.
