WDSTGA attends national seminar on tea growers

Wokha District Small Tea Grower’s Association (WDSTGA) represented Nagaland in the national level annual general meeting- cum-national seminar on “Sustainable Tea Cultivation by Small Tea Growers’ organized by Confederation of Indian Small Tea Association (CISTA) from march 16 -17 at Hotel Sinclairs Resort, Siliguri, Darjeeling, West Bengal. 

The three member delegation was led by R. Mhabemo Lotha, president, H. Orenpomo Ngullie, general secretary and Khyothungo Shitiri from WDSTGA.
During the state wise report, H Orenpomo shared the grievances faced by state small tea growers and reminded the CISTA and Tea Board of India about their earlier six points representation which was submitted by  Shami Angh, president All Nagaland Small Tea Growers Association (ANSTGA) in 2017. 
The CISTA official further promised the delegation that positive response will be given to the active association like Nagaland state. The programme was attended by delegates from the state having small ‘tea growers association’ in the country.
Selection/election of new CISTA office bearers were also conducted during the meet, where  Bijoy Gopal Chakraborty was re-elected as president for another three years (2019 – 2021).
Meanwhile, the delegation expressed gratitude to ANSTGA officials for the opportunity to represent Nagaland state in the national level programme, and to WDSTGA for extending financial support to participate in the programme.
