Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Sunday said that the business body has taken cognizance of the demand notice issued to a particular section of the business community in Mokokchung by a Naga Political Group (NPG).
According to MCCI president Tsukti Longkumer and general secretary Limalenden Longkumer the NPG had issued a demand notice to “contribute” a sum of Rs.10,00,000 to its chaplee ministry against “dealership/shop/various business establishment” on or before April 30, 2019.
Taking note of this, MCCI held an executive council meeting on April 19, 2019 and strongly resolved that, as reiterated earlier on multiple occasions, “illegal taxations shall not be allowed in Mokokchung and that the said demand shall not be entertained under any circumstances, whatsoever.” MCCI viewed the latest demand notice as a serious violation and infringement on the rights of the business community, and asserted that MCCI shall never compromise with it.
