
An annual refresher course for teachers of Catholic schools in Dimapur was held on April 26, under the theme “Profile of a Catholic School Teacher” at Holy Cross HSS auditorium.
A press release from Don Bosco principal Fr. PG Joshua, stated that teachers from Catholic schools — namely Holy Child High School (HCHS), Assisi Higher Secondary School (AHSS), St. Clare Higher Secondary School (StCHSS), St. Paul Higher Secondary School (St. PHSS), Holy Cross Higher Secondary School (HCHSS) and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) — numbering altogether 350 teachers participated in the program.
Rev. Fr. Joseph Manipadam SDB, (secretary, CBCI Office for Education & Culture) was the resource person for the course.
The resource person elaborated on standards expected of teachers teaching in Catholic schools. He said that teachers were imbibed with sound moral values, kindness and dynamism enabling them to adapt to changing times touching human lives entrusted to their care. Rev Fr P.J. Thomas, chairman of Holy Cross HSS, invoked God’s blessings; a welcome address was delivered by Fr. PG Joshua and a vote of thanks was delivered by St. Paul HSS teacher, Suman Kujur.
The program was chaired by HCHSS teacher, Edward Kasar.
