
A foundation stone for a KVK administrative building was laid by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region director, Dr. Narendra Prakash, in the presence of Nagaland Centre joint director, Dr. DJ Rajkhowa, and KVK Longleng senior scientist & head, Dr. KL Meena, at Naga Junction, Longleng on April 26.
A press release from KL Meena stated that, a one-day awareness program on ‘Doubling farmers income’ was also conducted at Convention Hall, PBCA, Lempong, Longleng, graced by Dr. Narendra Prakash; DC, John Tsulise Sangtam; Dr. DJ Rajkhowa; Dr. KL Meena; and N. Tialemba Phom, executive secretary, PBCA, Longleng, Nagaland.
N. Tialemba Phom appealed to the farming community to grab every opportunity to learn new technologies provided by the KVK, while John Tsulise Sangtam, also asserted that farmers should derive maximum benefit from the KVK in terms of new technology, so that people of Longleng district could become self-sufficient.
Dr. Narendra Prakash encouraged the farmers to work in collaboration with the KVK office to improve their farming practices and come forward to address their problems so that KVK could intervene at the right time.
Earlier, a welcome address was delivered by Dr. DJ Rajkhowa. Dr. KL Meena gave the vote of thanks. 253 farmers attended the program.
