The Akuluto Area Youth Organisation (AAYO) has alleged that despite repeated appeals, the work on construction of 32km road from Akuluto to Mukhami vis Lotisa (New) and (Old), Mapulu and Mukhami NH 61 has been slowed down for more than six-seven months. In this regard, AAYO on Thursday has served 15 days deadline to the government contractor engaged in the construction to resume the work immediately by deploying more labouers and machines.  In a press statement, AAYO president Vikiye Kinimi and general secretary, Khehoshe Chophi stated that the work for the construction of the above mentioned road was awarded to government contractor during 2016-17. However, AAYO claimed that despite repeated appeals the work has been slowed down. In this regard, AAYO has cautioned that failure to comply with the notice within the stipulated date it will initiate its own course of action without further notice.  AAYO also stated that it has been frequently visiting the construction site of any government contractors under its jurisdiction to ensure that assigned works were accelerated.
