Community assets distribution programme was organized by department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Kohima Forest Division at Kohima Range Office on June 18.
According to DIPR report, DFO Kohima, Rongsenlemla Imchen highlighted on the importance of role of village community in protecting forest and environment. She encouraged the gathering to take responsibility of the assets distributed and used it for community benefit.
She appreciated the efforts of the village functionaries, JFMCs and SHGs for their effort in natural resource management. The village functionaries thanked the department for raising environmental awareness in the region and assured full cooperation to the department.
The programme was chaired by Pezaneinuo, ranger Kohima, wherein she urged the gathering to maintain the plantation raised by the villagers under FDA judiciously. The department distributed plastic chairs, barbed wires, solar lamps and eco friendly waste bins as a part of community asset distribution under the entry point activities of FDA Kohima.
