
As part of its “5th Charity Week” observed from June 17-22, Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS) Dimapur visited Assisi Evening School and Integrated School to distribute food and stationary items to more than 1000 students of the Evening School and Integrated School which caters to children from impoverished and marginalised families.
A press release by LHSS Dimapur stated that the items were donated by the management, parents, teachers, staff and students.
During the visit, supervisor of LSHSS, Imnajungla, led the short introductory service while Sister Benisha, headmistress of Assisi Evening School gave the welcome address.
Sister Benisha said it was the first time in the history of the school where such magnanimity was shown to the school and students.
Two students of LSHSS, Simon Mech and Sungjemnola of Class 12 Science and Arts respectively, shared their experiences of charity week activities and how it has impacted their lives.
The students of Assisi School also presented two special numbers while the Junior Choir of LSHSS sang two choral numbers followed by concluding remarks by LSHSS chairman, Nini Sekhose.
