Korean singer and television personality, Jang Hanbyul enthralled Dimapur at a fully packed IMC Hall Dimpaur on July 20 evening.

The artist who holds a bachelor of degree in dental science from university of Queensland, Australia, spoke on how he was introduced to Korean music by his parents who aimed to become musicians. Hanbyul said his parents introduced him to Korean music and that he fell in love with it and termed it as very attractive kind of music.

Although criticisms lingered in social media platforms regarding Naga K-Pop fans supporting Korean artistes rather than Naga artistes, IMC Hall was packed by fans to meet and greet the Korean singer for the “Summer Star Tour”.

It may be mention that Hanbyul (Korean wave) fascination in Nagaland is growing bigger day by day and that more support and love for Korean based artistes is growing bigger especially among teenagers of both gender.

Hanbyul was earlier a member of LED Apple but now is focusing on his solo career and will be performing in Diphu on July 21 and Kohima on July 22.

Prior to his performance at IMC hall, series of questions were asked by the hosts.

When asked about how it was to be touring alone, rather than with a band, Hanbyul said that it has its ups and downs and mentioned that pressure is more when you tour alone. He also revealed that it gets rather boring when on flights.

When asked about whether there are chances of him falling in love with his fans, Hanbyul replied that it does not matter if it is anyone if you fall in love with her. He also revealed that his idol date would be with someone who is generous and can cook.

Hanbyul not only performed Korean songs but also enthralled the crowds with a cover of the song, “When I was your man” by Bruno Mars and also the famous Bollywood song “Raabta”.

Earlier to Hanbyul’s performance, the stage was occupied by The Mistiques, Girls Access, Litsala, Asen Imchener, Unnamed and Asen Pongener with songs and dances. They were the winners of the online contest that MUSIKA conducted to open up the stage for Hanbyul. Altogether 13 contestants were selected out of the many entries, where 5 contestants would be opening up for the Korean singer in Kohima on July 22 and three of them at Diphu on July 21.
