SCC observes Freshers’ Day-cum-cultural programme

 Salt Christian College (SCC), Dimapur observed its 28th annual Freshers’ Day-cum-Cultural Meet on September 6 with entrepreneur, Tito Yepthomi, as the guest speaker.

Yepthomi who is also the alumni of SSC and the president of Dimapur District Auto Drivers’ Union (DDADU) encouraged the students to venture into business sector and contribute to the state economy. Pointing out the scarcity of government job in the state, he advised them to be self independent.

Recalling his college days, where there was lack of good facilities unlike the present day, he urged the students to grab the opportunity and utilise it to the maximum.

Khrorite Lashu of Class 11 and  Sharfaraz Sheikh of BA 1st semester were crowned as Mr and Miss Freshers SCC, 2019, while Sentilongla and Hetoka Kibami were declared as Miss and Mr perfect.

Former Miss Nagaland 2016, Vilokali Zhimomi and finance secretary of ANCSU, Inato Y. Chishio were the guest judges.

Earlier, invoation was offered by campus minister SCC, Rev. Thebemo Yanthan and welcome address was delivered by general secretary SCCSU, Gamalel Narzary.
