State level training on climate change and global warming

Two-day state level training programme on “Climate change and global warming” was organised by Earth Friendly Generation (EFG), Nagaland and Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi at Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) conference hall, Chiephobozou town with Akangmeren Imchen, scientist ‘B’  from Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) as the special guest on October 10 and 11. 

A press release from EFG desk stated that, Akangmeren Imchen spoke about pollution in Nagaland and media presentation was shown on various pollutions which create problems in the state. He stated that various dumping site in the state create landslide and event more pollution when the waste are burned. He encouraged the participants to put more importance of eco-friendly products rather than use of market products which are really harmful for environment and health. He emphasised on the single use plastic in the state and requested the trainees to go for alternative solution. 
Vineizo Tsiirho, general secretary of Chiephobozou Town Council (CTC) spoke on the ozone depletion which is at high risk for all the living beings. He stressed that the quality of planet earth should remain and every individual was responsible for it.
Director of Earth Friendly Generation EFG, Keduolhoukho Chadi emphasised on the purpose of EFG and its initiative towards preserving environment in the state and also set new trends to work on eco-friendly and traditional products. 
Rajeev Nirmal, programmee officer from Vishwa Yuvak Kendra (VYK) stated that this state level training was to create awareness among the people in the state of Nagaland. He also said that seeing the active participation of different stakeholders to fight against the climate change and global warming has motivated him to be more active in working for better environment.
During the two-day state level training programme, Dzüvichüü Chadi and Avinuo Ziephrü from Naga Hub Centre took a session for the participants on how to make plate, cup, bowl using banana leaf. Ongalo and Wawe from The Coming Generation (TCG) also gave training on paper bags making for all the participants.
The event was compered by Dziesezelie Sanchu. A total of 121 participants from government department, NGOs, CBOs, and SHGs attended the training programme.
