GPS building inaugurated at Lutsam

New Government Primary School (GPS) building at Lutsam village under Meluri sub-division of Phek district was inaugurated on February 21, constructed under erstwhile SSA Nagaland 2017-18 and inaugurated by Kevileno Angami, state mission director Samagra Shiksha Nagaland.

A press release from GPS Lutsam stated that, state mission director congratulated the village leaders for completing the school building construction and appreciated them for the quality work. She urged the village community to make best use of the infrastructure provided by the government by facilitating quality teaching-learning in the village school. Kevileno reminded that the top most priority ought to be on children’s education as society cannot progress without education. Neizetuonuo DEO Phek who also attended the programme exhorted the villagers during the inaugural programme. 

Earlier, programme was chaired by Lovingson, chairman SMC Lutsam village while Matsemong chairman Village Council extended the welcome address. Solomon ex-pastor Lutsam Baptist Church invoked God’s blessings while Lutsam women presented folk song.

During the tour to Lustam village, state mission director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland and team visited New Creation School at Sekrezu to observe the innovative practices introduced in the school, residential hostel construction at Phek, multi-skill learning centre at GHSS Phek, GHS Phokhungri, GPS Avangkhung the last border village, GPS and GHS Sutsu, GHS Pholary at Phor, GMS Akhegwo and interacted with the VEC/SMCs, village leaders and teachers to take stock of the school conditions. 

Kevileno was accompanied by Kevizakie Rio, joint mission director, Kelhikha Kenye, assistant mission director, Vekhozo, state coordinator, Theja Rio consultant NECS from SMA Samagra Shiksha and Neizetuonuo DEO Phek along with staff from DMA Samagra Shiksha Phek.
