12th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) organized a disaster management training under school safety programme at Holy Family Higher Secondary School (HFHSS), Kohima on February 24.
A press release from HFHSS principal Ashikho stated that, demonstration on how to respond to various emergency situations were shown to the students. Emphasis was also given to preparedness against disaster before it struck. Post disaster follow-up which included proper evacuation of injured persons from the site was also demonstrated. Training saw active participation of students in various techniques of administrating first aid and rescue. The role of class monitors and teachers for such situations was also explained.
Demonstration on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was shown to the students. NDRF team was led by sub-inspector Kunwar Pal Singh.
