Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) bye-election for two constituency are knocking at the door within some few months of this year. The desperate educated unemployed youths are tired of the present system of election through money power and horse trading which is prevalent in Naga society. So ‘enough is enough’ as the rich are becoming richer and poor are becoming extremely poorer.  The state deficit is escalating year after year at budget session with no proper development in grass root level be it education, health, road, drinking water etc. Adding to the woes, there is huge unemployment, poverty and corruption continues to grow unabatedly without any solution. Why all these are happening in Naga society is due to the absence of Clean election. And also not giving chance to educated young leaders who have the embodiment of vibrant, energetic and vision to represent his/her constituency at highest decision making body.

The current scenario of Naga Society is always apprehension of the elderly people that if the reins of government is to be handed over to the young people, they may take it to the wrong direction. However as witnessed, it goes well with the successive generations, and young people rather do better and better.  For instances, in Northeast India the current Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is still young  but holding the highest prestigious office efficiently and effectively. Also, there are instances of young leaders in the world like Justin Trudeau the Prime Minster of Canada and Sanna Marin Prime Minister of Finland who are heading the country with all round development.
So the question here, is why not the Naga society come out of the box for new reformation and transformation towards our brighter future of tomorrow. Let the present system of government off the people, buy the people, cheat the people and far the people be eliminated forever and inculcate the new system of Government of the poor and by the people and for the educated unemployed. Then the realistic civilization will evolve rather than idealistic society.
Secondly, the absence of Clean election subsequent the corrupt system of mechanism from top to bottom. “As power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”. Moreover, generating greediness, selfishness, proudness and denial of truth results in conflict, tension, separation, disorder, suspicion among one another. Further, through money power system some former MLAs and candidates after losing the election lost their land, subjected to live in rented house due to mortgaged properties and bankruptcy situation. However “Clean election generates clean development, clean government and clean prosperity”.
Moreover, through clean election produces a righteous, integrity, honesty, humility, empathy, accountability,  transparency, confidence, considerate, submissive and sincere leader. Furthermore, through clean election produces a righteous and competent leader who love peace, harmony and stand for what is good for his people. And also clean election eradicates the hostilities between family, clan, Khel and tribe politics. Besides clean election removes hatred, enemity and bloodshed during election.
Thirdly, the absence of Clean election and visionary young leaders consequence the rampant growth of greediness and selfish ambition eventually generates of unemployment, corruption, familism, clanlism, nepotism and tribalism in Naga Society and subsequently breaks the society into pieces without having a single unity of command. Thus, it contributes everyone becoming master without holistic authority to rule. In conclusion by practicing clean election and giving chance to young leaders will ultimately bring new system of governance, change, policy,  programme, schemes and development.
